Soon we'll be off to England

This Friday we leave on our holiday to Britain. We are very excited.

The first part of the holiday will be spent in northern England:
Cumbria (Whitehaven) for 2 nights
Lake District ( Lakeside near Newby Bridge) for 3 nights
Yorkshire (Leyburn) for 5 nights
York (ancient walled city) for 1 night

We'll then travel by train to London and SW to Andover to meet Bronda & Rod, our HomeLink house exchangers. We can hardly wait to meet them! We'll spend the night with them. Friends will drive them to Gatwick airport the next morning and Sandy's sister, Marilyn, will meet them here in Victoria. She will help them settle into life on Gonzales Avenue. Marilyn's son, Glen, will look after our lawn care while we are away. He will also prepare Bronda & Rod for using our Rialta for a road trip north on Vancouver Island.

Back in England, we will have lots to see and do the beautiful area where Bronda and Rod live. As well, we have organized 3 nights in Cornwall: Clovelly, St. Ives, & Near Penzance.

On June 6th we'll fly home from Gatwick Airport. We'll stay 2 nights at Judy & Carol's condo (they will be away) and then move back home on June 8th. There is an overlap because we want to touch bases with Bronda & Rod before thy fly home to England.

While away, I will 'publish' a blog of our holiday. (There is now an iPad app that allows Blogger to recognize photos stored on the iPad.)

I will include the link here. If you save the address, you will be able to check in every few days to see my photos and comments.

Bye for now.
