Troughton House

We found it!
Yes, this afternoon, after a bit of driving, we found Troughton House, located along a country lane near Cleator Moor. I have included 2 photos taken of my mother when we first saw Troughton House in the 1980's. At that time, a Lamb cousin remembered its location and took us there.
Today was a bit of a challenge but we didn't give up and were rewarded by a visit there. The current owner was a delight and talked with us at some length.
Troughton House (with a working farm behind) was owned for over 40 by the Lamb family. It was wonderful imagining Mamie's father growing up there. And yes... A beautiful house indeed!

It sounds as though you've had a very interesting time in Whitehaven. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
